Boudoir Photography Ideas

Whether you are a photographer or potential model wanting to create sexy, glamourous pictures, from time to time you may need a hand getting your creative juices flowing. Hopefully this Boudoir Photography Ideas section will help you on your way.

Ideally boudoir photographs should be a personal thing, celebrating you as an individual or, if you are creating a gift, then the relationship with your partner in some way.

Celebrating You!

We all get ideas from images we see in magazines, movies or on the internet; you simply cannot help it! But rather than copying those images, take a moment to ask yourself a few questions that will help personalise your boudoir photos:

What are my best features?Boudoir photograph. Model: Natalia Forrest

Most of us can identify the bits of our body we dont like far more quickly than the bits we do. Often I find that clients are quick to give me a list of bits they don't want to show in shots, but need a lot of coaxing into admiting they they actually think they have "quite nice legs" for example.

Please don't obsess about this too much though! Attitude and confidence are the sexiest things in the world and trump any pluses or minuses God gave your bod.

What am I passionate about?

If you have a particular interest or hobby then ask yourself whether you could use that in some way to personalise your shoot. The "The Calendar Girls" movie summed this up perfectly; if you love to cook then take photos in the kitchen, or wear a chefs hat and apron? If you are known for having too many shoes then cover yourself in them! I'm sure you get the idea...

Celebrating Your Love!

If you are getting boudoir photographs done as a gift for your lover, then can you include some aspect of your relationship in the photos? Where did you meet? Are there any stories from your past together that you can hint at?
